SoNNeT USB Hubs ECHO-HB5-T4 Editorial Review
The Sonnet Echo 5 Thunderbolt 4 Hub seems to have a mixed reception among customers. Some reviewers are highly satisfied with its performance and find it to be an indispensable addition to their setup. One customer with a MacBook Pro M1 Max even connects two 4k monitors and SSDs without noticing any loss in transfer speed. Another reviewer notes that the hub is powerful and efficient, providing fast speeds when connected with Thunderbolt 3 or 4 cables. However, there are also several negative reviews that highlight compatibility issues. One user with a Dell XPS laptop mentions that their device only has a Thunderbolt 3 port with a USB-C connector, and each time they attempted to connect the Sonnet Echo 5 hub, their computer displayed a message indicating that it cannot support the full functionality of the hub. This incompatibility led the user to return the hub. Another customer experienced overheating issues with the hub, causing their displays to blank out after a few minutes of use. On the other hand, another user received a unit that appeared to be used or previously opened, but they decided to keep it despite the annoyance. Overall, the Sonnet Echo 5 Thunderbolt 4 Hub seems to work well for those with compatible devices and appropriate cables, offering fast speeds and convenient functionality. However, there have been reports of compatibility issues and potential overheating problems, making it important for users to ensure compatibility with their devices and monitors before purchasing.
