Orphans & Foster Homes Editorial Review
**** "Heat" emerges as a compelling read that strikes a chord with both young readers and adults, blending the world of baseball with profound life lessons. The narrative, centered around Michael Arroyo, a young pitcher navigating familial struggles and immigration challenges, captivates readers with its heartfelt portrayal of sibling bonds and resilience. Many parents have noted its positive impact on their children's attitudes toward reading, fostering a love for literature in those who may struggle with it otherwise. Readers have appreciated the engaging storyline, with one reviewer noting how their son became deeply invested in the characters despite initial hesitations. The book's ability to intertwine themes of perseverance, family dynamics, and a glimpse into the life of an immigrant child in America resonates well with audiences. Reviewers frequently mention that "Heat" not only serves as an engaging story but also lays the groundwork for important discussions around empathy and social issues. While some initial chapters might appear slow, the overall momentum and emotional depth seem to make up for it, offering readers a rewarding experience by the conclusion. The feedback strongly suggests that "Heat" fulfills its purpose as an ideal project book for school assignments, while also being entertaining enough to encourage a passion for reading outside of schoolwork. Overall, "Heat" has been embraced for its heartfelt story, relatable characters, and valuable lessons, making it a worthwhile read for children and young adults. **
