It can hold 3/4" MDF or plywood and four clamps are necessary to make a square. However, it only opens to one inch so it cannot clamp a 2x4. Customers have found it helpful in holding pieces square and true, but there are some Cons. The black L-piece required to use the jig effectively does not come with the product and has to be purchased separately which many customers found to be misleading and a rip-off.
