Pride FC - Shockwave 2006

### Pride FC - Shockwave 2006 Pride FC's Shockwave 2006 stands as a nostalgic representation of one of the most celebrated promotions in mixed martial arts history. This year-end event not only showcases a stacked card featuring legendary fighters like Fedor Emelianenko, Shinya Aoki, and Shogun Rua but also encapsulates the unique spectacle that Pride was renowned for. Released under Zuffa's ownership, the DVD format deviates slightly from earlier releases, introducing a mix of content both desirable and debatable among fans. The core of the DVD features ten exhilarating bouts, including the much-anticipated heavyweight title fight between Fedor Emelianenko and Mark Hunt. For MMA enthusiasts, watching these skilled athletes collide brings back thrilling memories, underscoring the high stakes and fervor present in every knockout and submission. Additionally, the DVD packs in some special features, such as a poignant opening chorus and a fighter walk-in montage, which adds flair to the viewing experience. However, not all elements of the product were received without critique. Some viewers expressed disappointment over the organization of the fights, noting that two bouts were classified in the “bonus features” section rather than being integrated with the main card. This odd formatting takes away from what could have been a seamless viewing experience. Another critique involves production missteps, including errors in fight listings, misspellings of fighters' names, and general oversight in quality control, which fans find hard to overlook. These slip-ups detracted from an otherwise enjoyable presentation, though they did not overshadow the quality of the fights themselves. In summary, Pride FC - Shockwave 2006 lives up to legacy expectations with its thrilling matchups and high-energy ambiance but suffers slightly from a lack of attention to detail in production. It remains a must-own for any fan of MMA and those looking to reminisce about the golden age of Pride FC. ### Pros and Cons **
