It is said to be 1/2" thick, but the thickness is only at the 4 corners where the grippy material is located, and the board itself is 3/8" thick. The size of the board is quite big, which makes it a hand-wash item that needs to be stored away from other cutting boards. The corner hook is handy and does not get in the way.
