The device is not compatible with some smart TVs, which may prohibit the remote's function. The user interface on the 3rd gen is slower in comparison to the 4K version. Similarly, the 3rd gen has a design flaw for multi-speaker setups wherein the receiver can't process content using Dolby ProLogic. However, the Surround Sound can be set to "Dolby Digital" that still enables viewers to experience 4K without having to stream in 4K at a lower data usage cost.
