The gauge comes with a sturdy aluminum case and is made in the company's Global Series, likely manufactured in China. As a digital gauge, it allows for smaller jobs to be performed without breaking out larger gages, though the display is vertical as opposed to the horizontal display of similar products. It may take some adjusting to, and the gauge does not include an offset scribe for setting zero from the plate, which must be ordered separately. A battery is not included. All that said, this Starrett gauge is a solid product in every other respect.
